Okay i failed at making whipped cream.Why?

I got amul fresh cream. I put two cups of the cream in a large bowl. I added sugar and vanilla and mixed it with a spoon for sometime and then started whisking it with an electrical whisker.I kept whisking for like 10 min but i got no peaks.I tried freezing it and then tried whisking again but failed yet again. What could be the reason? Please please please help!
